Managing Party Groups

Do you find it difficult to find all of the doctors that are attached to your case? Fortunately, the 'Party Groups' tool allows users to classify individuals and companies into custom categories within your 'Parties' tab! Ultimately, this simplifies the process of finding medical providers, attorneys, witnesses and any other type of case player.

How to Add a Custom Party Group

  1. Navigate to the Party Group page. To do this, in the upper-right-hand corner of your MerusCase dashboard, click on Tools > Settings and Options.
  2. Now, in the column on the left, click on Systemwide Settings > Party Groups.
  3. Once the Party Groups page pops up, click on "New Party Group."
  4. Assign a Name, Order, and Color to your custom party type. The Name field determines the group title and the Order field determines the arrangement of party groups within your cases.
  5. Click "Save" and your Party Group is ready to use!

Assigning Participants to Party Groups

In order to utilize party groups, you can jump into the 'Parties' tab of a case* and assign a party a category of your choice at the bottom of each individual's Party Card.

  1. When you're in a case, open the party card for the individual or company of interest.
  2. Click "Edit."
  3. Scroll to the bottom of their card and select one or several groups where the party should be present.
  4. Once all appropriate groups have been assigned scroll to the top of their card and click "Save."

Once you've assigned your Party Groups, you will then be able to sort by Party Groups when you're viewing the "Parties At a Glance" tab.

Note: If a party is not assigned a group they will appear with the default blue color shown below (John Barry and Susan Adjuster are not assigned Party Groups while Jane Dupler and Gallagher Bassett are each assigned to a group and reflect the group's color).
